Overview

Kuachi is a Bakersfield barber who cuts at his studio or drives out to his clients. He needed an easy way for people to book either option, so we built him a booking website and a matching iPhone app that work hand in hand. Customers choose the shop or a house call, pick their service and time, and put down a deposit to lock it in — then watch the barber head their way on a live map, like tracking a rideshare. His calendar never double-books, reminders go out on their own, and the whole thing runs under his own brand instead of a booking app that takes a cut.

Deep Dive

One Barber, Two Ways to Book

Kuachi runs a mobile-first barbershop — clients can come to the studio on Belize Drive, or he drives to them. That only works if booking is dead simple on whatever someone happens to be using, so he got both a website and an iPhone app that stay perfectly in sync. The booking steps are the same everywhere: where, what, when, pay. The favorite feature is live tracking — once he is on his way, the client opens the app and watches him approach on a map instead of guessing when to head outside. Deposits taken at booking hold the slot and cut no-shows, and because it is all his own app and site, he keeps his brand and his customers instead of renting space on a booking app.
